The 7-day Machame Route (often referred to as the “Whiskey Route”) is one of the most popular and scenic routes for summiting Mount Kilimanjaro. This route provides a great balance of challenge and reward, offering climbers incredible views of the mountain, varied landscapes, and a higher chance of successfully reaching the summit due to the extra acclimatization days.
The Mweka Route is used for descending after summiting, and the Tusker Route is sometimes used for different itineraries but can refer to a specific trekking company or a variation of the Machame Route.
